Takarunga Walk
We went for a walk on Takarunga to look for signs of long ago Maori habitation. We found a kumara pit and some pieces of shell from an old midden. We looked to see where people could fish and grow kumara. We walked along the pathways made by people in the past.
Kiwisports Hockey
On Wednesdays we have been learning hockey skills in the Fall. Our teachers are James & Charles from Harbour Hockey. We love it!
North Harbour Gymnastics
During August we rode a bus to the North Harbour Gymnastics Centre. We tried many activities - trampoline, beam, mat, bars, hula hoops and ribbons. It was very challenging and we gave everything a go!
Hockey Festival Day
On 8 September, we went out to Rosedale Park as the culminating activity for our Kiwisports Hockey Programme. It was a wonderful day and we all enjoyed the experience.
Djembe Drums
On Tuesday 12 October, there was a big surprise waiting for us in the School Hall! John and Chewy from Rhythm Interactive had set up a djembe drum for everyone to use - even the teachers. We had fun beating our drums as you can see.
Visit by Jim & his Sheep
We had a visit from Jim, who used to be the school Caretaker before Dave. He brought his sheep and lambs to show us. We talked about Spring and the rhythm of the seasons.
Rippa Rugby
We are learning how to play Rippa Rugby with Mike and Theo from North Harbour Sports, we love it. Soon we will be going to a Rippa Rugby tournament.
